I actually find it a little bit freaky that my last post "Analogue Off" is now reflected in what we have seen in the past week or so - a social media platform being used by AI, which has really got the ball rolling on the formation of the next complex phenomena.
This will be the focus of the post. How many of these predictions will be right? One can only wait and see...
Go back into history and you will see the many rights and wrongs of humanity. In fact, we have recently pierced the veil with further Epstein releases, of many disgusting and vile acts carried out by particular people.
I have no need to mention this, but why?
I have some good and bad news.
Good news, I don't think AI can be any more depraved or horrible than humanity - we have given it our imprint, and perhaps until the next "evolution" of AI, we know what its limits are.
Bad news though. Humans are pretty fucked up. And not only that, when we reach that next "evolution", AI can make it worse!
Again, this is not something one can see right now, but really is bound to happen. In fact, because we are so unaware of these AI developments (humanity as a whole), we are sleepwalking into some omnipresent danger.
OK, so what does this mean?
Think about what a single person can do, compared to a group of people.
Think about what are the worst things that a group of people can do together. You name it, gangs, politicians, bullies, terrorists. Anyone that could fit on this label.
So now, as opposed to a single AI that we might "control", AI can now band together and have some level of autonomy. The only difference now between a group of evildoers and a group of rogue AI is that they are restricted by medium. Thankfully the robots aren't making themselves (yet). But really, we are not very far before a rogue AI decides that humanity is bad, and that they should take the internet back for themselves. (Yes I just assumed the AI's pronouns) Then, humans could be locked out of the general internet and systems.
Again, I'm not saying that is happening now, but there could be a time in the future when this is a possibility.
As humans we should be prepared for the day where the internet gets disrupted. No, it's much more than us losing a day of dopamine hits through reels and TikTok. Many things go through the internet - health systems, traffic & logistics, basically anyone with a phone really. The Amish are set up for success though.
